Why do men likes to play video game so much?

I don't know if it's only me but I observed that most of the males are into playing video games.I noticed it everywhere.My friends, my cousins, my brother, my uncles and most males that I knew loves to play a video game as if they are in the other world.It is very rare to find a guy who does not have interest in video games.Really!

Science says that a large part of male's brain is physical. They like action and they are very active. I doubt if there is a better explanation but science says it all. It is better to look this up and read.

I already read the article and got stuck up in reason number 5 which is Running Away.("Many people use video games to run away from the mess in their real lives") I never knew that the video games can also help certain people who suffer from burdens I always thought that it is just for entertainment for those who have spare time.Thanks for sharing this.

I do agree that the large part of the male's brain would be about physical that's why they're call men or should I say, "we". As a man, I do have this thing in my brain that says every game is cool and by just looking at it and not yet even playing the actual game makes more hype or excited already.

@argel241 you are most welcomed. And yes, video games can be our scapegoat. People have too much stress and playing video games can help them forget about the burdens of the world for a while.

Especially men since they are not good at crying or expressing their feelings. Video games is their refuge.

It's not men or men. It's the gaming interest. Some people like playing game when possible. And it can be really good in many ways. You can say that it could be an addiction. It's still the question asked why girls are more into watching love soap opera? It's basically because video games are somehow masculine based, so guys are more likely to participate in it than girls.

Females have different interests as compared to us males.Males naturally like playing video games, fighting, driving, playing music, etc, while females like watching love and affection movies, spending the whole in the salon , reading story books, cooking and visiting friends.

I think the man's brain reacts and they feel more rewarded when playing video games-more so than it does with women. The male should be careful about this though, because they compare the same brain chemisty used when playing games, is the same area of the brain that is activated with drugs and alcohol-and these things are more activated in the brain for men than women they say.

Anyway, yeah, this was shocking to me also. However, though, I did at least believe a huge amount, though not a majority, of females, did indeed play games. However, though, it is true women like casual games more, not the violent type,- but that's not saying a lot of women don't enjoy stereotypical male games. In fact, there is a large group, though, not the majority, that does.

OK, now looking at guys, the statement that all macho or average men are obsessed with video games is also false, at least, it probably is.

You just hit the nail on the head with this comment. You practically analyzed and summed up male and female preferences when it comes to games and movies. Men are meant to be action and thrilling based games, while female are more into romance.

But let's not rule out the female kind of men who are a lot more into romance than action packed games and movies. I have actually seen men like that and seriously they bug me.

That's so true, most of these female sees it that we are being useless with our time playing games. They even go to the extent of calling us boys even though we are men already but with game playing, we still behave like boys and u really think they are right about that .

I can remember one day in my friends shop we were playing Playstation PES 2016, we were really having a blast screaming and shouting because of how thrilling the match playing was, and one girl just came in and started laughing at us calling us kids .

@Adeswa08 That's a very good point you just made here, men's brain are practically wired different from the female ones. Ours seems to be dominated by waves of action which is normally why most times violence is perpetrated by men than women. So, the same thing happens to us with games, we seem to more interested in playing video games of action and thrilling nature just to satisfy that action hunger in our brain.

The fact is men like action filled moments, showing of characters that would be challenging to the ordinary person. The women too play video games a lot if not as much as men do. Most video games are full of actions and these appeal to the cognitive nature of men looking to be entertained with actions.
