In my honest opinion, he is not wrong and has all the right to do what he did. Robbed of his throne, forgotten and ignored by everyone he ever helped. How bad is that?

One sad story of a man :(

What do you guys think?

He is a very tragic villain who is a victim of circumstance. I can't wait to play him on his DLC which tackles his backstory on why he joined the dark side.

They say Ardyn was to be the first king of Lucis and I think he is about 2000 years old, give or take a few years. Ardyn's impurities grant him eternal life- and he does look creepy sometimes, his face sometimes looks demonic and grotesque, but it's kind of cool looking !

I was really sad for what happened to Ardyn, any other person would find himself doing exactly what he did because getting rob of your proper inheritance will hit you hard more than you can ever imagine. I definitely wouldn't want to pass through what Ardyn suffered.

Ardyn was just the unfortunate sad villain and getting to lose his throne is good enough to push anyone down the evil part. People go to any length to keep their throne and getting to lose yours would definitely break you up.

That's one thing that I don't really like about what happened to him. He had to rebel since they got took away his throne from him without any need for that. It is a sad end for him and I understand why he acted that way. No one would like to be Ardyn in real life.

I also believe that the royal family isn't right to rob him of his throne. He is a rightful heir and I think he isn't wrong to get his revenge on Noctis' family. I also couldn't wait for Square to release his own DLC to know more of his story.

Instead of solely looking for revenge, I wonder if he was also seeking for a way to die.

He deliberately powered up Noctis to the max. He knows Astrals would give Noctis the power to kill him surely.

I thought it's so odd that the very place that could give Noctis the power to completely kill Ardyn and daemons was the throne room, and yet Ardyn left that place standing during all those ten years. If some random daemon had crushed the palace to pieces, it would have been all for nothing for Noctis' tough campaign.

I don't really care about Ardyn's feelings right now, I'm just super excited to see what Episode Ardyn has in store for us. He was supposed to be King of Lucis but Noctis' family made sure that did not happen. So you can imagine how eager I am to see the extents to which Ardyn is willing to go to make Noctis' life a living hell.

There is a saying that goes like this, "Bad things happens to good people and nobody does anything about it". It's just the case with Ardyn and his royal family. There is always drama in any royalty power tussle and Ardyn paid the ultimate price.

Ardyn is the main antagonist and appears in the feature film kingslaive. Ardyn is a shrewd, humorous and manipulative man. He is unpredictable, and his exaggerated and perfomative personality hides his sinister intentions as well as his dark past. Personally, I think Ardyn does deserve all that is happening to him.

That's a but a little bit too harsh judgment on him, I think that he doesn't deserve such fate even though he had a striking personality, he wasn't all that bad in the beginning.

Yes he wasn't in the beginning because he was pretending he is too of a hypocrite. Sorry to say. Why does that character come out then? He just hadn't realise he was evil or he was simply pretending. I loved him in the beginning but am glad I now know him for who he is.

I think that every character has an evil side that it's dormant, which can only manifest when such individual is been pushed against the walls beyond any limits. So, it's the case of what Ardyn had to pass through.

I now get why he was the way he is. If any of us had gone through what he did m sure it would have affected us to some extent we won't be the same person. It's so sad he had to go through all that.

Ardyn is a villain, and he might have been a victim of the circumstances, but at the same time it was not an easy situation.

Yes, I agree. It's just that for me, Ardyn was a terrible villain. Somehow it seems like they tried to play this guy up as a successor to Kefka, or something like that. I don't think they were able to handle him with some consistency.

I am aware that it's not uncommon for the most notable villain you see to be the final one of the game. Kefka did it; Sephiroth did it, Sin did it too. But it just felt poorly managed with Ardyn.

That's the thing, I feel the level of Final Fantasy is high, so whenever a character is not exactly spot on, we feel have superior comparison levels. Ardyn is pretty good though. :)

He is more of an antihero to me than full pledged villain. Yes we have to kill him but his back story just stings. He started as a good man who was a victim of circumstance.

I can't wait for his dlc because we will finally get to know him before he became corrupted. His dlc is the only one that survived the cancellation dramas Square Enix and Tabata have. The trailer of the dlc looked great so it really guts me that we will never see the others and their assets will be donated for Final Fantasy 14.
