Each version is different, has its unique individual flavor and play flow. The personalities are always exciting and well developed. The plots are engaging and usually well-thought out. The musical scores are compelling and grand in the way they capture sensation and drive your engagement to the story. And likely most importantly, they’re all pretty fun core games. Even if you never give attention to anything else, just formulating strategies and making it through each fight is satisfying. All the games seem like an intellectual hunt depending on the challenge of the time.

What do you guys think?

You don't have to play the series since the beginning to enjoy it because each game is standalone. Compare that to the other series where you will be lost on the lore because all games are connected and you have to play since the beginning of the game to fully understand it. It is also a game that appeals to both men and women.

Exactly my thoughts. What is so great about the game is it caters to men and women alike. To kids or for those who are young at heart. I am 34 years old, and I still enjoy playing every once in a while, call me names for being a child, but I find the game entertaining. I might play it for life.

For people new to the Final Fantasy games- these games have a field and battle section as well- and on the field, you can move your characters around the towns, dungeons, and a large world map that keeps everything together. While moving around you can shop for weapons and items at shops, talk to the townspeople and collect treasure as well. I would say overall with the Final Fantasy games- is the great feeling you get, when you go on a adventure, and the wild chase that takes you through some exotic and fun settings!

The Final Fantasy games have the same appeal books do, imagine that to reach the next chapter, you need to solve a puzzle, or engage in a tactical game where you have to use the right technique to defeat your enemy, and that tactical game is fun and well-designed. That’s the appeal of the franchise. It is a well-written novel with enjoyable gameplay as a secondary feature.

I think each game being unique story, better graphics and improved gameplay is what is unique. And the best part they managed to pump up all of this upto version 15. So that is a big achievement for any game. It's not easy if you ask me. Lot of games failed after version 3 or so.

I agree. Also, its reinvented continuously. There are some common forms and elements from game to game, but each new version (with a few exceptions) is a new world, with new rules and a new focus on gameplay.

The franchise seldom delves into sequels, so each chapter is a world in its own right. I believe they've sold them short by numbering them if they'd addressed each a secondary title it might have better conveyed that they were not sequels.
