For obvious reasons, a lot of this stuff reminds me of anime. Is anyone into it? Do you see any direct connections with anime, manga etc. with some Final Fantasy characters or stories?

I think anime is more of a television show or movie that is animated and usually this is the Japanese name for it. But also Final Fantasy does have some TV like shows-that were based on the Final Fantasy games. The Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV was a net animation show that was available on the net-and it was streamed on YouTube for free I believe.

I think square enix is japanese based company. And most of their writers and the animators are from there. So obviously the culture has some influence over the content. And we can surely see how that works out. I guess on that note FF is designed that way.

The appearance of the characters alone used in all the Final Fantasy game series would tell it's Japanese based with how they are. It's a pure copy of Japanese resemblance and I read that it's a Japanese based company that runs that developed and production of the game.

The series first premiered in Japan so I guess that's why it has that anime and manga look.

This is exactly my point about the appearance and resemblance of the game with Japanese looks. Some people might misplaced it for Chinese because they look a bit similar but if one takes a little closer look, you are going to discover it's Japanese and not China.

Square Enix is a Japanese company and its all right in every dimension that everything about the game Final Fantasy be centered around Japanese culture. It reflected in the nature of the characters used in the game, it's location and storyline. I'm not surprised in any way that the game turned out to be in this way.

The Gay Baiting in Final Fantasy 15 is inspired from Japanese women's obsession with Gay romance. The characters are not Gay but they have a lot of Gay moments so they will get sales from Japanese women.

This is exactly my understanding of why Final Fantasy characters are made to look Japanese in appearance. It's actually selling the game well in Japan and all other parts of the world.

The headquarters of Square Enix is located at Shinjuku Eastside Square, Tokyo. The company has a massive structure where all its game developing takes place. Below is the Square Enix headquarter in Tokyo.

Wow, that's one giant building. I can imagine the kind of state of the art techs that would be available in that headquarters used to develop these games Square Enix produce. Remember, it's not a Final Fantasy gaming franchise that the company base on.

You can trust Japanese as well as Chinese with building a massive and intimidating mansion. The first day I saw that headquarters structure, I was so shocked and impressed with the magnitude of the building but anyways, it still shows with their output in games as being equal to the task.

I don't really think we would ever have Final Fantasy without the Japanese culture. Although after FF7 SE tried eliminating some Japanese customs after people overseas started getting involved.

Really, Square Enix tried eliminating some Japanese culture from the Final Fantasy game franchise? I seriously didn't know about that because I feel such culture was still inherent in the game.

SE wanted every gamer all over the world to develop a deep connection with the game and I think that's why they decided to make that move.

Not just FF but many concepts in Anime, manga, video games are originated from Japanese culture. So they do have their own touch in the art and entertainment. So that's something I too have learned through mangas and games.

I completely agree with you on this, the characters looks and appearance is what's so obvious when one is trying to see the touch of Japanese culture in these games. They can hardly be overlooked.

Wow is that really a thing? That's the first time I heard of that. You really do learn something new every day. :D

Well, the traits of all the Final Fantasy characters are stereotypes of anime characters and they are both made by Japanese so the culture will always affect the FF games.

Alright, if that's the case then I will say it's a good business strategy to get more coverage with the game letting it spill across the continent and reaching millions of people from different races all around the world.
