Sometimes, when I am lonely, I feel like playing some computer games at the comfort of my home and get some pleasure after playing for just a little time. Logically, gaming makes me forget some emotional feelings and gets me balanced psychologically. I began to imagine how significant gaming can be in the life of any man, so I decided to throw this open so that everybody and I can learn further about gaming and its significance.

A game is only as good as its rules, and how well we play the game is defined by how well we follow the rules. I very fondly remember playing a game with my dad and brother when I was growing up. We drew maps, we planned routes and had a great time together. I know you play video games with your three kids as well. Obviously we like it, but do you think it's actually important to play games

Games can actually take away all the problems you can have, like when you feel so stressed and wants to be comfortable and sleep well. Just play your most favorite games and you'll be good and will feel better at the same time.

Many video games are nice and take part in entertaining people. People often play games when they are tired to feel relaxed and to chase away exhaustion. Others play the games to earn money when they compete.

Just take this as a warning not to game too much. I got addicted to video games back in 1999 and I used all my free time to play games until just 6 months ago. And it took me over 4 years to finally get gaming under control. And the moral of the story is get out there in real life and make friends and make something of your self and life will be way more rewarding than sitting behind a computer screen or TV all day long.

I do believe that significance of game playing varies from one individual to another because of our individual differences. What playing might mean to Mr A would probably mean a different thing to Mr B. So it's therefore meant for a particular individual to determine what it means most for him.

To me personally, If playing satisfy your needs and makes you happy then I believe it's worth every moment that you and your family spend on the game.

When I was still a teenager, I used to play always with my kid brother on our Sega game, and our favorite game back then was the punisher. Even till date, we both still love that game because of the memories we have of the game.

It is a fact that people who play video games can manage stress and they are less likely to be depressed. They can also find solutions to problems easily. I believe this is the main significance of a game.

Others include entertainment, competition and for bonding too. We can play games together with our friends or partners while making memories.

This is so correct, gaming is a very good means of having entertainment and competition. Back then during my university days, my friends and I normally place bet on playing soccer games in order to intensity the competition. And it's helps us bond and jell well.

Yeah @Athanas you are so right on point about playing to earn money. I just mentioned how we use to place bets playing soccer games, first it brings out the best in us while playing and makes us very serious with the game competition. It always feels good taking off cash from my pals while having fun and the feeling bad when I lose my own bet (lol).

I know for others playing games have no significance in their life. For some they would think playing games is shallow. But for me playing games is part of my life. It's an outlet for me to release my stress. It gives enjoyment whenever I play games. It maybe shallow but the feeling that I get whenever I'm playing wouldn't measure any amount of money. Maybe others wouldn't understand gamer because for them is just a waste of time. They would never appreciate being a gamer unless they would experience to be a gamer.

One of my aunt actually views gaming as a practical wasting of time, money and energy. She would even ground her kids for playing the one bought for them by their father, forgetting everyone have a different preference as to what makes one happy and what one sees as entertainment.

When it comes to her, watching Zee world is her passion. She can practically watch a whole 24 hours of a day without feeling bored but when it comes to gaming she has a strong avarice towards it.

Games have an extra added dimension of fun because, unlike movies or TV, you can actively participate, generally speaking (game shows allow precipitation). Anyway, I'd say the same thing about the net vs TV and movies. The net allows more participation, like say, in forums or on social media.

Your aunt would never understand her kids because she has never experienced being a gamer. She never sees that watching Zee and gaming are actually the same when it comes to entertainment. It's both time consuming and you have to pay the bills. Kids can't complain with their mom because she's in charge so we can't do anything about it. But maybe if her kids got higher grades at school it could be a way to reward her kids to play video games.

I'm questioning who would think playing games is "shallow"? How is gaming any more shallow than any other hobby or stress-relief. There's a certain a stigma against gamers in general because they're always perceived in media as lowlifes without anything going for them. This, then, moves on to the parent's mindset when they believe that their child is wasting their life on 'playing stupid games' than getting good grades.

However, what they don't understand is, as you said, games are a great stress-relief, and without them those children/teenagers/adults would perhaps be doing even worse than they currently are. I still wouldn't say anyone describes gaming/gamers as shallow though :D.

Yeah you are right, I basically see her as being selfish and not reasonable at all towards the kids. But anyways let's hope she changes anytime sooner because should she not, there is every chance of her pushing the kids outside the home to get gratification from playing elsewhere.

I think it helps in many ways. You meet both new friends online and offline. You meet more people. And that gets you to socialize. Also you get more other people based on recommendation. Some of the time some games can be harder in that sense. You should think of games as a stressb uster too.

Playing video games is like a sport like basketball, soccer, etc that is very good for relieving stress and enjoying yourself in free time. But not all of video games is good for fighting negatives sometimes, it can lead you to more stress if you abused yourself too much on playing. We are human and we need to take a break.

The answer is really easy. It's for entertainment purposes. The more i play games, the more it makes me happy or sad. Because whenever you play games, atleast on that day you achieved something you hadn't from yesterday. And each day you are playing, your skill and capabilities is taking part from your improvement to the game, and whenever you reach the top, the more happy you will get.

I think playing video games can be great for your health and it's good for your creative thoughts, also it is quite a positive experience-and can really pick you up sometimes, when you have the blues- so it will help with depression as well. Also if you have been sick-these games can make you feel bettter, faster, so they can be like a medicine I would say, while you heal and get back on your feet.
