Releasing Final Fantasy 7 for Switch and Xbox one a bad thing?

These ports might kill the momentum of the remake. People might lose their interest to play the remake if they just played the original. Do you think this is a right decision to remaster a game that is about to be remade? I am being a negative Nancy but I just want to be critical because I love Final Fantasy 7, It is my childhood and I wanted for decades for this upcoming remake. I I know some people may say the port of the original will just built more hype but the tragedy of Final Fantasy XV still traumatized many fans who waited for the completion.

I don't think the remake will be a frame by frame copy of the original. They are going to make changes to keep it fresh just like the other popular game remakes.

Say what you want to 7's graphics but it has the best battle system throughout the whole series. This one I can play for hours, over and over again. The cast is also very likable compared to XV.
