It just got easier to create mods in the PC version of Final Fantasy XV...simple ones, at least.

Square's new Final Fantasy Windows Edition Mod Organizer lets those who are new to the mod scene go wild. The Mod Organizer is built to perform basic mods like texture and model swaps, but can't produce more involved mods like creating entirely new models for use. It will, however, import models from 3D modelling software as long as they were saved in the FBX format.

For more info, browse Square's press release below.

LOS ANGELES (June 7, 2018) – SQUARE ENIX® today released the FINAL FANTASY XV® WINDOWS EDITION MOD ORGANIZER for STEAM®, Origin® and Windows 10, for the first time giving players the freedom to explore their creativity and customize the appearance of characters, weapons and outfits in the game.

The MOD ORGANIZER allows players to convert art assets into mod data and incorporate them into the game world*. By replacing existing models and their textures, players can change the appearances of Noctis, Prompto, Gladiolus and Ignis, as well as the supporting cast, including the likes of Ardyn and Aranea, and the non-playable-characters met throughout their adventure.

Aside from characters’ physical appearances, character outfits and costumes can also be replaced with new designs. Weapons can also be modded, with the freedom to create brand new weapons and set their parameters. To ensure in-game balance, new weapons have a 100-point distribution system to define each weapon’s abilities and performance across parameters such as Attack, Max HP, MP, Vitality and resistance to elemental magic.

The MOD ORGANIZER update also features pre-packaged sample 3D models for the fast replacement of costumes and weapons and more advanced customisation tools for maximum creativity, designed to be easy for beginners to use.

To download the MOD ORGANIZER for Windows and Origin, please visit: MOD TOOLS | FFXV WINDOWS EDITION | SQUARE ENIX. For STEAM, the MOD ORGANIZER is added to Tools on the STEAM Launcher.

*MOD ORGANIZER does not have the functionality for creating and editing assets such as 3D models. Assets can be created with 3D design software and outputted in FBX format to the Mod Organizer.

I am not good at coding though but this means people who are good at coding can make multiple mods we can enjoy. I would like mods where female characters can be playable. That is the missing element 6 have because of the Yaoi teasing theme it has.

Now that they have sourced the tools. And they seem to be inviting people to make the mods. I think it'd be interesting to see what the community is going to build. And that should surely be making a lot of changes in the existing set of mods. I hope that some good content comes out of it.

This is a very good information and update from the company Square Enix, I'm sure that it's not everyone that are aware of the availability of this MOD for 3D software but I'm certain most gamers will appreciate having it.

I remember seeing a video of updates to come, which featured a Comrades-style character creator to make a character for the single-player mode. Can this be done in the mod organizer or is it something still in the making?

I also hope that this new development is going to make things get more better as we play the game. I have not really tried to create any mod since I am not that adept when it comes to creating them. However, I know that there are people who are going to take hold of this and make amazing mods.

One thing I like about the developers of FF, which is Sqaure Enix, is the drive with which they are pushing to ensure every lover of Final fantasy gets to enjoy everything that comes with it. I am looking at a situation where this is going to work really great for them as well.

Square Enix has been in business for a long time now and they have definitely picked up a few things along its years of management and development of the Final Fantasy games in which valuing their fans is among their top priority. The fans are what makes the company what it is today.
