Is there a list of "must own" cheap commons and rares that a new player should pick up? I am just getting into the game and would like to get a collection started. What are the cards that see play Magic, I'm looking for the equivalent of cards like Lightning Bold in red, Serum Visions/Ponder in blue. Path/Swords in white, etc. Cards that see widespread play across all decks of their respective colors.

There sure a lot of gaming companies getting into the game card business. And the insane prices for some of these cards remind me of baseball when I was growing up. Some of those old baseball cards were worth a ton of money and a lot of people invested in rare cards because they just kept skyrocketing in price. And then one the day, the bottom fell out and baseball cards were pretty much worthless. So just be careful about how much you invest in-game cards.

Yep, a lot of companies are getting into this and making a ton of money off card games, both in this and video game form. I don't see the appeal to be perfectly honest, especially when they're charging so much for them. I guess it's mostly teenage age group that they're targeting.
I just read the starter guide though for this game and it seems to be relatively complicated and not that easy to get into at first. It does seem like it would have been fun to play with friends when I was a kid.

If you look at society over the last 50+ years, things go in and out of fashion. For the longest times cards were out of fashion and now they are in fashion again. And it might is 1 or 2 years from now and they are going to be out a fashion gain and they are going to be worthless. And then you're going to see a lot of sad people who wasted their hard earned money on these cards.

This is a great news and it shows the extent the company - Square Enix is moving towards making their games reach all corners of the world. 110 million cards is a huge number.

I think reaching with that card numbers it's like moving towards the success of the "Magic: The Gathering". That is something you'd definitely see for the future. I'd say this can be a good progress for SE.

Exactly, it's definitely a huge progress for Square Enix reaching such numbers, if they keep such up which I'm certain they would, things are definitely bound to be a lot more better than it is already.

If SE is able to ship 110 million Final Fantasy card globally then card game business must be booming. It looks like card games are the new big thing.
