If Square Enix wants to make online Final Fantasy games, they should be Spin offs and not numbered sequels. I really dont like 11 and 14 for that reason. I think the Single player offline games should be the numbered sequels while the multiplayer games should be a separate spin off title or a DLC mode for a Numbered sequel.

Final Fantasy is much better as a single player off line experience.

They are pretty much spin-offs already despite being numbered. They've done it 2 times already and I don't really care if they do it again. It doesn't take much research to find out that FFXI and FFXIV are in fact MMMORPG's.
As someone who doesn't like MMORPG's, I agree that FF is better off as a single player experience.

Those 2 are not very popular MMORPG's neither. Most servers of PS2 games are non existence anymore so no one can play 11 anymore on it's base form. Numbered titles should be given for the single player games. I dont think those 2 MMORPG's became mainstream and iconic neither.

I dunno about that. FFXI is long dead, but FFXIV is AFAIK still relatively popular almost 5 years after release. Is it iconic? no, but it must be bringing in loads of money which is the only thing that matters to the devs in the end.

I think people who are fan of franchise will buy it either way. Because they are not worried about that part. You can see that as long as they understand what type of release it is. They are going to buy it.

I just hope that they will keep MMRPG's away from the numbered titles. Just make numberless spin offs for the single player experience. I hope 16 is going to be a single player game with a storyline and set of characters to be emotionally with.

I absolutely agree that single player FF game franchise seems to interest the game fans more the multiplayer aspect the game. And to think of having the game in offline mode makes it a lot better.

Personally, I enjoy both multiplayer and single players spin off almost the same way, although in some cases, I would choose single player over the multiplayer depending on how I feel with playing at the time. If FF 16 is made to on single player mode, it would be interesting.

What kind of mood would you choose either playing on multiplayer or single player Final Fantasy games?

I agree with you. This is definitely how I feel about the numbered Final Fantasy games that are multiplayer. I've known Final Fantasy and other Square games to be top notch single player RPG games. If I want to play multiplayer, I can find other games from other publishers that are way better than Square's games.

I'm not saying that they stop making multiplayer games, they should just remove the numbers from them and treat them as a spin-off instead of being a part of the main Final Fantasy games.
