We would imagine Square Enix is pleased with the stratospheric sales of Kingdom Hearts 3, released late January. There was one complication, however, they hadn't accounted for: the existence of the third game ended up driving demand so high for the rest of the series, the compliation became impossible to find.

Kingdom Hearts: The Story So Far is a repackage of the two releases KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX and KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 FINAL CHAPTER PROLOGUE. The all-in-one Story So Far replaced them both, and was originally released last October. A whopping nine games were included within.

While the events of these games are recapped in a series of videos included with Kingdom Hearts 3, it wasn't enough for a lot of fans, who felt the urge to replay the classics. Why Square thought they could short-change supply under these circumstances is a mystery to us, but they'll be correcting their blunder soon. Square's press release has more....

LOS ANGELES (Mar. 1, 2019) – The sold-out KINGDOM HEARTS compilation KINGDOM HEARTS -The Story So Far- has returned to US retailers, including GameStop and Best Buy. Due to the popular demand, the compilation will also be available in Canada and Latin America starting March 15. KINGDOM HEARTS -The Story So Far- offers an opportunity for fans to better immerse themselves in the lore leading into KINGDOM HEARTS III, the latest mainline entry in the blockbuster action-RPG series.

It topped most of January's sales and it even outsold the super hyped Resident evil 2 remake so this game is a huge success for Square Enix. They are promising DLCs now but I am not sure if we are going to get that after the Final Fantasy XV fiasco where the promised dlcs got cancelled due to Tabata quitting.

This game just surpassed Final Fantasy 15 when it comes to sales and expectations.

Its weird that the past games have lots of final fantasy characters but the latest chapter only have them mentioned. They seemed to be separating from Final Fantasy to have their own identity.
