Is this game going to unify the fanbase or divide the fanbase

Not only this remake is going to use a very different system they might make some major changes. First is the fact we won't get the full story it is episodic after all. Some fans also became unhappy with certain character redesigns. I think this game might cause a divide between the fans of the original and fans of the remake. We will have some people who will have this remake as their first Final Fantasy game. I had seen some fans already debating about this game when it is not yet released. There might be some major changes on this game because they recently released a remaster for the original and changes will make this remake unpredictable.

Every sequel will always divide a fanbase, what important is that it is going to be enjoyed by many. We cannot impress everyone but we can still get a majority. Most whiny fans are just a vocal minority. This game is one of the most awaited games for multiple console generations. People had been wanting this remake since PS2 and Gamecube era.

It is up to Square Enix if we will end up liking this remake or not but I like what I see from the trailers so I am very optimistic.

I believe this remake will do great. Just look at the hype of every single trailer! There is no way people will hate this unless they don't play JRPG.

The only complaints I had seen by far is the new combat system and the desexualized design of Tifa which I don't mind. People who hate changes can go back to playing the original's remaster or mods.
