Is this game even worth coming back to?

I played FFXIV from release up until the latest expansion and I quit because of it's the same thing over and over and over some more. New gear set and two new dunes every 3~5 months. And the same old grind was getting to me so bad that I left the game with a medium house (that's now gone) and 60wmh,60ast,60sch, 60blm, 60pld, 60brd, 60mac and every crafter and gather level 60. So my question is, is this game worth coming back to?

P.S. I played the latest expansion for a day and I just couldn't get into it.

It depends with who is laying it. I do love the game. However, with some other people, the game appears like a nightmare to them.

Coming back to Final Fantasy XIV is not purely for the pleasure of playing it but probably if I feel like it just having a feel of old one then I will play it but normally I don't go back to FFXIV. The series of Final Fantasy XV is more complete to me, and definitely go back to it over and over again without feeling bored.

They say with Final Fantasy 14, this new game rewards veteran players, while offering very little for the casual crowd,so unless you have played in the past a lot, you might find this game frustrating. I think they have added some new things to this game also, like a swimming feature.

I would say that I am a semi-veteran, I played it for almost 3 years, I just don't think that I could ever get back into that horrible grind again. The grind got to the point that it was so repetitive that I would rather watch paint dry then play the game again.

I know that is a horrible thing to say about the game, but the same old 2 new dungeons and the new armor set every 3~5 months killed the game for me. I was just hoping that there was something new that would make the game interesting again.

I'd say if you are not into adventure RPG then FF is not worth coming back to. I mean FF honestly has no replay value because it's quest based game. So on that context I'd say it's one or two time play game. And you can choose to play it if you want. Some of the time it can be good enough and some of the time it can be harder.

I would go as far as saying that FFXIV is a WOW clone with a Final Fanasty skin. Its such a shallow game and so far from its older cousin FFXI that it's not even funny. There was so much to do in FFXI that you could do something different every day for a month straight and not do the same thing twice. Whereas to FFXIV the only thing that you can do is gather or craft or grind the same dungeons over and over until you go insane. I really miss good old FFXI.

I never really thought about it like the rewarding of veterans but not much for others, but that does make sense. You might to factor this into your decision, then.

Of course, it's worth it. It's an amazing game and definitely very fascinating. Just like Minecraft!

For me it depends on the player, If you enjoyed this game , then it is really worth it to come back but if you dont maybe its not worth it,

As for me I enjoy this game so I dont mind if I come back too often.

Definitely yes. Final fantasy is the only game that I don't get bored. Even though I rest in playing final fantasy I always got on playing final fantasy over and over again. So I can 100% fully say that final fantasy is a game where it is a worth coming back.

If you got bored of the game then I don't really see any point in you coming back to it. Not much has been added AFAIK.
I hate grinding too, BTW. It has made many games unplayable for me.

It depends on some people. For me it is worth it if you really want to, you just have to take time.

I am suspect to talk about it because I love all the Final Fantasy games, and given an interval of some weeks, I consider all the FF games worth returning to. :)

Yeah, the only problem is that if you return to an MMORPG, you'll likely be stuck playing it again for an indefinite amount of time. That's why I dislike MMORPG's, they just require too much damn grinding and waste too much of one's time. Well, that and the fact that the online gamer community is full of...not very nice and mature people.

Yeah, that is true, it requires time. Some say games are time wasters, but if I am actually doing what I love, am I wasting time or spending it doing something I enjoy? So, for me, it's a pleasure to be playing FF games.

Final fantasy is worth coming back to, it have a lot of fun that you don't get tired to play it, especially as final fantasy gets better you won't want to miss out.

Well you do have a point there. I agree that you're not really wasting time if you're doing something you enjoy.
Still though, MMORPG's require so much time investment that you're unlikely to have enough time to do anything else really, especially if you have a job.

Yeah, playing them usually means long hours at night, so it's usually at the expense of sleep hours lol. It used to be terrible, but since I have kids, I had to reduce the rhythm.
