In Final Fantasy 15 Lunafreya have an elderly woman who serves her and she is named Maria.

The Deuteragonist of Final Fantasy II is named Maria too. Maria is an Archer.

2 is set on a older time era due to the lack of technology while 15 is set in a futuristic world. There might be a chance 2 and 15 are from the same planet but in different time periods.

Hi @Seifer_Leonhart. Yes I think Maria in Final Fantasy 2 is the same as the one in 15. But i think she sounds different when you compare the two vocals.

Maria could have decided to take care of oracles like Lunafreya after she retired as a warrior. Maria is now older so her fashion sense, attitude and voice will be different from II.

I was actually thinking the same too. The voice is normally different because she's now older.

This makes me think, Someday we might see characters from older games like Squall, Cloud ,Rinoa, etc.... being elderly in future games.

It could be the same Maria that fought against the empire, and searches for her lost brother in Final Fantasy 2- and of course Maria always used to have long purple hair and purple eyes. But the elderly Maria in Final Fantasy15 has blue eyes, so you would have to explain that?

That's a nice find. It's possible that the same person who wrote the story made some sort of connection. And the character relation was made across the universe. Then again, that's just a speculation as we don't know officially if those characters are in any way connected.
