Is FFXIII worth playing? Why?

It was unexpected XIII turned out to have my favorite battle system out of all the main Final Fantasy games (XII is a close second). The number of input you have on your character's actions is just right to make it feel so active and exciting yet still in total control, even if you're macro-managing. Also, I like how long boss fights felt proportionally legendary compared to usual battles. There were some parts of the game that were actually challenging in contrast to all the games before XII.

Please feel free to share your thoughts? Is it worth playing? Thanks.

I actually enjoyed this game but I hated the protagonist because she is rude. She is basically an a-hole to her team mates who is not her sister and not Hope. I enjoyed the battle system, the support characters and the story. I enjoyed X-2 more because Serah is more likable than her sister.

The greatest thing I love about this game is that it isn't a role playing game. It has the most gorgeous story scenes you'll ever see in video games- a little more human and less esoteric than in previous games. The greatest pleasure comes from the design of characters, the world and the legions of creatures that inhibit it. It bursts with gorgeous natural environments to futuristic cities.

I can go on and on. This game is awesome.

I think battle system is definitely good. Though in terms of the long battles. I'd say FF15 have done it lot better than the FF12. Also you may find that some of the characters in the game are not so developed to be remembered. Some just feel dragged. That's why we feel that they are just good for action instead of as a character. But overall the game is good enough.

I would say that the one good thing about Final Fantasy 13, is it does have Sazh Katzroy in it. He is a middle-aged man with a afro and carries two pistols. I like old Sazh because he is quite the down to earth character and keeps this game grounded- he is 40 years old, so it's good to see a mature and sane character in this Final Fantasy 13 game.

I agree it does appear down to earth character. Though it was not meant to be a brutal character script written there. I am sure if they make something serious they would also reflect in the persona.

and who is your ideal hero? Serah a Goodie 2 shoes damsel who died. Its like Aerith taking over instead of Cloud. Come at me bro! Come at me! I will debate you all day! To prove Lightning is the best character!

It is the last game in the series that felt like a Final Fantasy Game, The last game with turn based system.
