I have friend of mine whom I think has abnormal character. From the way you see people loving games until some spend the whole day playing them, for him it is a different story. He doesn't like playing any games. Do you think this is normal, and have you come across anyone with similar character?

It is normal. I introduced my friends to some games but they are not interested. I am really not a fan of video games but I never hesitate trying because I end up liking them.

There is nothing like game haters. You can't like what other people love. Everyone has their own preference.

For example, I can't say "shopping haters " to those who don't like shopping. :D

It is normal for a person to like and dislikes something , Like for some instance some people prefer to dance but some prefer to sing , same scenario here , some like to play games some don't like , we just need to respect the decision of someone on weather or not they will play.

This is not abnormal at all, people who dont show interests in games exist, it is not because they are anti social but rather it is their nature, not playing video games does not warrant that you call someone has a disorder or needs to go see a therapist.

I am not a video game kind of person I feel it is waste of time, till now I just use it to pass over boredom because I don't consider it a do or die affair, I have so many friends who consists of both girls and guys that have never played video games in their entire life. Not everyone will like what you do, I started playing video games this year am not too handy with but am trying to be, am this kind of person who doesn't focus on video games too it was this forum that made me start getting interested in it.

I have plenty of such people around me who hate games. And that in itself can be something worth thinking about. I know some of the people who hate games have their reasons. Like real world interaction matters more over the gaming. You can see that gaming does affect the real life. And that in itself can be really hard to balance.

I am a good example. I don't like dancing nor singing but I like seeing people dance and sing.

This is actually normal, like people have their own perspectives in life as well as choosing of whether to be interested in games or not and they just do what they want to do. Most of my friends are into gaming and some of them are not and hates is so much, like I've tried asking them and they just told me that gaming is not for them.

I don't like playing games all day, but I do enjoy them. As you say, to see someone, as the OP did, that totally hates games is odd. Anyway, a lot of people might prefer specific games or genres and others, like me, might list the lack of time as one reason for not playing all day - and of course, there is also lack of skill. What fun is playing a game you're not trained for - and it seems like Call of Duty and maybe also Final Fantasy cannot be played by average people?

I do think that his situation is just normal. Every individual has their own preference. It's just that he doesn't prefer playing games. I have met several people who doesn't want to play online games. They would much prefer spend their time reading books or doing their preferred hobby. Every individual is unique and their preference differs from each other.

I think it's normal. We have different likes, and dislikes or hobbies. Maybe your friend is an outdoor person, he doesn't like the, well, something like doing some adventure while sitting in the chair. He likes the actual action.

Some people are not from the video game age. For instance, my late dad was born in 1942 and grew up in the American 1950s. What did he know about video games? Also, he didn't know anything about modern computers, though, he worked on older ones back before Bill Gates etc..

However, though, it lends to the imagination that certain people might love certain things - if they were exposed to it and/or simply opened their minds

Well, I see nothing wrong with his life choices and preferences because everyone is entitled to lead a life of his own chosing. There is a saying that one man's food is another man's poison, so as gaming might be pleasing to some people, it does not necessarily mean that it would be to others.

So, I respect his choice but the only thing I wouldn't entertain from him is trying to criticize those playing. If he ain't going to play, he should respect others choice to play.

To me, this seems like a 1984 mind control thing, a sort of conformist tyranny. For instance, I like math and I enjoy discussing it. However, the idea of a person who isn't hateful or loathing about the subject makes for mockery. In that case, the people who enjoy math can only be other math majors and there might even be hostility among that group.

Anyway, though, I doubt if anyone truly hates games 100 percent. Perhaps the guy mentioned by the OP is misunderstood, but he may indeed not enjoy games as much as others.

I think they haven't complete a great game yet so they have a bad insight about video games and also a bad experience maybe one of the factor that a person will hate video games. But, we are all different, only God knows why we are in that way.

I can say that they are the type of person who never play video games, you can never tell that you love one thing or not until you try it. We should give them respect because a true gamer know if it is worth fighting for. Playing video games is one is one of the many ways for us to think out of the box, when we play video games we use our mind to think what is the best way to play. But at the end of the day we all have differences that we need to accept and respect.

It's quite normal for a person to criticize things that they do not know or do not want to know. They may also have a different perspective towards gaming itself, so I can suggest that when you talk to them enlighten them about the nature of gaming and provide them insights about the gaming industry. One way or another, we cannot force them to love gaming that we love.

Video games are now a part of life. But there are always difference on people. Some may find video games exciting and others may say it is a waste of time. It always depends on person's preference.

Yeah, some people are just unbearable. They won't want something and can't simply allow another to have such thing. In my locality, we call such people, poor people and witch as well. They are very odd when it comes to some certain it, let it go, no, take it, no still. What nonsense?
