As you know, Square Enix will be re-releasing Final Fantasy 7 Remake on the Playstation 5 this summer. The new version will feature slightly enhanced graphics and a new bonus chapter that introduces the Remake version of Yuffie. Today Square revealed a few new details about that chapter.

The bad blood between Midgar and Wutai was only hinted at in the original, but expanded in the remake. Yuffie is in the thick of it, being from the Asian nation. Here, she's infiltrating Shinra HQ to steal a powerful materia (allegedly for Wutai, but we wouldn't be surprised if it "goes missing" afterward). Backing her up are members of Avalanche, who are helping Wutai in the mission. They'll eventually meet up with the baddie of the chapter, Weiss -- described as "the sadistic ruler of Shinra’s top-secret underground research center Deepground."

Yuffie's signature move is as plain as the giant ninja star on her back. She removes it and hurls it at enemies, then says something like "That totally had to hurt!" But this time she can do much more: her special abilities include "Banishment," a move that deals damage based on how much ATB was spent before using it, and "Windstorm," which not only damages enemies but pulls them next to Yuffie so she can damage them further.

The English version has been dubbed and the chapter will feature an all-new voice cast including:

  • Yuffie Kisaragi, voiced by Suzie Yeung
  • Sonon Kusakabe, voiced by Aleks Le
  • Weiss, voiced by Daman Mills
  • Zhijie, voiced by Griffin Puatu
  • Nayo, voiced by Ashley Boettcher
  • Billy Bob, voiced by David Goldstein
  • Polk, voiced by Daniel Amerman
Yes, there really is a "Billy Bob" in FF7 now.

Unfortunately, the version of Final Fantasy 7 Remake with the Yuffie chapter will not be made available for Playstation 4. This is kind of a problem because Playstation 5s are still not easy to find. If you DO happen to have one, you'll receive a free update to the PS5 version by just inserting your PS4 disc (or re-downloading the file). They'll make you pay extra for the Yuffie chapter though.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Intergrade will be out on Playstation 5 June 10, 2021.

I will rather be named "Billy Bob" over Clive or Joshua. I notice a lot of new characters on this dlc. I wonder if they will carry over as party members for episode 2. It will be nice to have lots of replacement once Aerith dies.

I find it interesting we will get new playable characters. I heard that this dlc will not be available for ps4. I do not want to buy the same game twice just for a dlc.

It is sad it will not be available for a PS4, I am looking into buying a PS4 since a PS5 is so expensive.
New characters sound nice. I wonder what their names will be.

Guys This is not Episode 2. This will be a stand alone dlc. Nomura said that Yuffie got this spinoff DLC because they want a new story set in episode 1. Vincent is still in slumber during those times and Sid was still with Shinra so that makes Yuffie the most qualified to have her DLC. I wonder if her friends from this game will be introduced in episode 2 as party members.
