Final Fantasy game recommendations?

Hi, guys!

So far I've only played Final Fantasy XV, XIII, and X. What are other single player Final Fantasy games that have great stories and gameplay?

I'm currently playing Final Fantasy VII and I'm looking to play more games from the series. Can you recommend me ones that are good and which ones to avoid playing?

If you don't discriminate graphics, VI is the greatest Final Fantasy of all time. It has the best villain, Best cast ,Best Romance,Best story and it is critically acclaimed. For a game of it's time it is very fun to play. It deserves a 3d remake.

Since you are playing Final Fantasy VII already, I would also recommend playing it's remake as well, I'm sure that you are going to enjoy it more than the original series. Also FF 6 is among the best FF games ever produced, if you can afford playing it, I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Basing on many reviews and our own experience with the FF games, I would recommend you play FF6. People have their own preferences but may have applauded by the fact that FF6 surpasses many of them.

It seems all of you are suggesting I try playing Final Fantasy VI. I’ll give it a try after finishing my current game. I didn’t know it was considered the best Final Fantasy game.

You could go with Final Fantasy IX(9) because a lot of people say this it is the best Final Fantasy game. Some of the reasons are the music and also the characters are all great as well- and besides the creator of Final Fantasy, Hironobu Sakaguchi says he likes this one the best, when he thinks what Final Fantasy games should look like the most!

I think FF6 seems ot be a lot better with story and the game play experience. I think it should have made a modern graphics look if possible. The reason being the game with such plot and the flow, it deserves better upgrade for those who played all the previous games. As said above FF9 is good too but I don't prefer it for the characters, in terms of gameplay it is good enough.

I’ll play FF9 after FF6 then. To be honest I only know Zidane because of the Dissidia game on PSP. I’ll decide for myself which Final Fantasy game I get immersed more.

I think playing random would be good option then. Because if you play FF9 then you may want to play previous like FF7 and then FF 14 as well. But then again I suggested randomness to avoid getting the plot and flow type repetition.

I would recommend my best game in the series, which is FFIX. It has a noble plot and great graphics as well. I especially enjoyed the magic and the runaway princess's contribution to the plot. The game has excellent mechanics and though it doesn't have the best graphics, it doesn't lag hence the ease of play.

I'll put it on my list. Though I have to play the other Final Fantasy games that they recommended above like FFVI before I can play FFIX. They also recommended IX above so I have an impression that it is also a great FF game.

From the 3d era, Play 8,9 and 10

From the 2d era, Play 6.

From the modern era, 13 and 15.
