Do you prefer the graphical improvements in the HD remaster or the old school charm of the PS2 original?

I prefer the PS2 original. It's probably just nostalgia factor though.

The first looks blurry and muddy and so I prefer the second one. I can say the graphical improvements in the HD remaster is better than the old school charm.

I can't spot the difference in the pictures but I like the one that is bright. :D

Both of the version are very interesting to play. But the old one has an amazing charm to play this.Because everything in its original form is always better and addictive to play. However, new remaster is not so much interesting than old one.

HD remaster definitely looks good. Also the amount of edges improved into this. That surely has improved the graphics a lot. It feels like you're playing completely new game. And the rest of the small game play improvements are visible as well. So it seems like such remaster for old games are worth having. Because here we as a gamers are benefiting from this.

Maybe you all will think that I am an old age guy, maybe I am at my age (40 years old) but I like the old PS2 original than the new one.
Don't ask me why because there is no reason for it, I just like it more!

Don't worry man, everyone's different and nobody is going to question your taste in graphics. I personally like the updated graphics a lot more, but I can understand the people who have played the original and feel attached to it.

Nah. That's part of the reason we find 16-bit style art so charming.

I find the remastered one better since it is clearer. All the features are distinguishable and gives someone an interesting urge to play the game.

Not at all. The minecraft has revived the interest of people in loving the old graphics. So you can see that the graphics that you liked for FF in old times. That are in still in demand. And people are going to play old games. So not something I'd say it is bad or so. It does still sound good enough.

Well, personally I find the PS2 original to be more better based on how the graphics and the extent of addiction it brings to the player. The HD remaster only looks good in facial view.

The FFXIII Remaster takes the trophy on this one. I would think that everyone supported this but as per the comments I guess we all have different perceptions. Personally, I love high-quality graphics but I am not using that to judge between the two pictures. If you look closely you will see that the remaster photo has sharper and clearer edges which make it look more realistic. You can tell that even while playing the game, the players and objects will not have a fading effect while moving around.

I have seen a lot of remasted games lately and I do always prefer the updated graphics vs the old school graphics. But honestly, I don't get why game companies keep releasing remasters so many remasters. If you ask me they are just filler games because they don't have anything else to release. But I am not knocking anyone who buys them because I have bought few myself.

I used to look at remasters the same way but if you think about it, it really makes a lot of sense. Less production costs for them, people who haven't played the original can finally play the game on their favorite console, new features etc.
I think FF XII Zodiac age managed to do this really well. I only hate remasters with a slight texture update and that's it, but I can understand if someone still wants to try the game because they didn't play the original.

I definietly prefer the original graphics! I dunno, maybe characters were "too yellow" for me or I just missed the old school charm, like you called it. Don't get me wrong, I like this term :)

I have never been one to just disregard the old school charm and more often than not tend to find those things that I miss. After a while I can get used to the new graphic changes though and it all turns out okay.
