I think they say when one is sick, there's always the possibility of losing interest in most things they normally do including eating because of the illness. But I have been ill for a while now, suffering typhoid fever which is a very serious illness, yet I haven't lost my urge to stop playing Final Fantasy games.

Is this normal or am I going nuts or insanely addicted to the game. I have actually tried removing my mind from it but finding it difficult to get it done. Have any of you had such experience before?

Haha, I think that's perfectly understandable mate, I mean, if we are sick at home, we just want the time to pass while the body heals, and what's better than that than playing FF? I would do exactly the same!

Haha, that's very funny creepy as well. But anyways, it simply shows your love for the game not minding your illness. Although I would encourage you take very good care of yourself and get better because the game is never running away (LOL).

I can relate to this. When you are off the weather, you are unable to do much. This is why playing games is such a staple in my schedule when I experience sick days.

I understand you, the moment when you already have a headache but you cannot stop playing because you have the legendary weapon in Final Fantasy which can deal 9999+ damage in one hit and it makes the monsters crazy. That's an experience that will consider happiness as well as addiction. Haha

Infact, video games can help relieve off disease symptoms. Instead of having negative thoughts about the disease, yo will be getting entertained by your favorite game. Playing video games is also simple and does not require any hard physical engagement and strain ang you can easily play them from the hospital bed.

I feel you dude, sometimes playing your favorite game takes away your illness and probably makes you feel more better. I think it's in the nature of all gamers, that whether you are sick or not, still game is life. :D

I can pretty much relate into that. I always play final fantasy games everyday, and sometimes that what makes me stronger or that makes my day complete. Although, obviously its really bad playing games when you're sick. Don't make it worse. Rest and play when you're okay.

I tried this once, haha. I told my mom that I cant go with them because I feel to sick. But then again she caught me playing final fantasy. And then again she shout at me and told me that she will destroy my device, and then she told me that I am just making my sickness as my excuse. (Asian kids know) hahahaha

Now, that's comforting because I was beginning to see it as if something else apart from the sickness is wrong with me. So now, I can quietly relax and play as my poor strength will carry me without gassing out. Since you can do the same as well, there is nothing else to worry about.

You are damn right in saying that I love the game, seriously I'm more than in love with the game, I'm also crazy over it. I definitely believe that is the reason why I can't seem to stop playing even in my health condition.

I think game addiction may be affecting you. It can be bad for health. So when you are having the health issues. You should avoid going in game setups. Instead just take some rest and have fun. You can see that this may surely be something that gaming community need to understand. Health is what makes gamers focused. So never ignore health.

Well, as much as it's obvious that you love playing the game, I would still seriously suggest that you take very good care of yourself first and then continue with your playing. Life comes first before enjoyment.

You should better rest my friend. If you're sick, leave playing video games for a while. You could go back some other time. How are you going to be able to win the game if you are ill? So better rest then come back any time soon.

I think I totally agree with you on this, there is no need for him to be giving his already sick body more stress by playing for too long because from how he narrated, he still play for a long time. His system needs good rest from anything that can cause be a potential stress inducer.

@overcast You said this exactly right on point. It's pretty obvious his addiction is chronic and it's seriously affecting him, but can I really blame him for being a die hard gamer? I believe all he needs is to see reasons why he needs to slow down and recover well first and play the hell out of the game afterwards.

I think that you are right @overcast, but the truth is that I really cannot help it not playing. This has been a huge issue with me lately but hopefully I can slow down a little bit and get myself back to good health.

Thanks for the advice, I will take it to heart seriously. I think it's actually best that I recover fully in order to be able to play well because sometimes I do feel weak and drowsy while playing. The illness is really getting at me, so it's better I get well and rest well.
