Favorite Villains of FF

What makes them interesting? Do you have a list from least to most interesting? Do you feel sorry for any of them - even though they're the bad guys?

Kefka from 6 is my favorite villain. All he wanted is to have a soul. Basically his existence is like human existence in Atheistic perspective. If he dies he will cease to exist. All he wanted is to have a soul and sadly he have to do evil things so he can have a soul,

I also like Cloud of Darkness from Final Fantasy 3 because she is very hot. She is sexiness incarnate

Ardyn - interesting backstory, and he is surprisingly competent as he actually managed to accomplish everything he wanted.
Sephiroth - interesting backstory, again, and I could empathize with the guy, to a degree.
Speaking of which, "chip on the shoulder" syndrome is all too common with FF villains, and while that makes them in most cases easier to empathize with, it's getting really over-used.

I think sephiroth and kefka pretty much are in the same line. And both seems to be pretty hard to beat too. I think on that note I'd surely say that some vilians in FF storyline are good to play.

My pick would be Kefka because of the evil intentions and desires to take a soul. This soul taking makes Kefka very strong and hard to beat. I'm not a fan of Kefka because the motive possessed by the character is deadly.

I would say Jecht is one of my favorite villians, and he was a great blitzball star at one time in his hometown so he is quite the sport. Also Jecht is a tall muscular man, but also he is quite the drunk-and carries a big black sword in battle. I think that Jecht being a bully and quite the arrogant dude, is what makes him quite human to me though.

My favorite villan in Final Fantasy is Vanye Carudas Solidor who killed the husband of Ashe. This guy is so mean and incredibly intimidating. I wouldn't want to be Ashe seeking to avenge my husband's death against Vanye.

Vanye Carudas Solidor is one mean villan in the Final Fantasy, his appearance alone is oozing evil and its all written all over him. I'm not surprised he killed Ashe's husband.

Not every villain is created equal, and with fifteen main series games in the ff series, there's going to be a fair amount of comparison. A mysterious entity who shows up at the end of the game to provide a halfway-interesting final boss fight, the Cloud of Darkness is nonetheless a powerful threat seeking to reduce the world to nothing. It's not a very nice person, basically.

Cloud of darkness is a freak show and one hell of threat to the empire. Fighting it takes a huge toll on my intelligence because I have to give more than enough to stand toe to toe with it.
