My sister sometimes plays FF games but she has complained that some of them contain horror. This therefore scares her until she becomes sick. As for me, I like that horror stuff. What of you, are you also scared?

I only tried one FF and I haven't experienced the horror part yet. But if it is true there is horror, then I would also get scared. :D

But the scary parts is what makes the game fun to play.

No, why should I be scared. It is a fantasy, none of that is real.
For the same reason I watch horrors and science fiction movies, but never the thrillers or drama.
Real horror is in the news, look it up.
That's scary.

I don't think there is anything specific worth getting scared in FF. I am not sure if there is anything. Am I missing something that is something scary that I have not seen. I have to check out what is there in the FF game to be scared off. Most of the things at the best are thriller worthy.

I don't even get scared playing horror games or watching horror movies anymore, so no. I guess voice acting was scary in some of the earlier games, but unintentionally so.

I agree with you, besides it is based on fantasy, people are just weird these days.

Basically the only horror movie out there is The Ring. Everything else goes under Miscellaneous.

The Ring? I have not watched this one before. If it is full of horror then I will go and look for it.

I like The Ring, but I think Ju-On The Grudge is better. Japanese are really good at making horror movies, western made stuff just doesn't do it for me ( The Ring is I think the western remake of japanese version - Ringu ) except for rare stuff like The Conjuring and REC.

We are all weird. I think it is okay for someone to get scared when playing a game or watching a horror movie. It is just the adrenaline rush.

I personally get scared and I hate horror movies more than I did when I was younger. I believe it is normal. We are all different. :)

In my opinion, there is nothing scary about FF. Infact, I have never thought someone may actually get scared when playing any games on the FF series. Nonetheless, some of the magic and bloody scenes might be unsettling for some gamers and I think that is what they register as fear. I will agree that some of the stuff that happens in the game makes me a little uncomfortable. It is not scary though.

I think the word that can be associated with Final Fantasy games is thrill and not fear. Their is nothing so horror that anyone would be scared of. Although the gameplay covers a lot of human emotions but fear is definitely not one of them.

Getting scared when playing Final Fantasy games? Not one bit where I'm concerned, as I have played a whole lot more dread and horror games, but still I wasn't shaken by it's demented settings. I have played resident evil, z-nation, both of the games are filled with zombies and scary creatures especially in resident evil but it never scared me at all. In fact, I love horror stuffs, it tends to heighten my adrenaline when playing games.

Well the name is more than obvious... fantasy! So, maybe that can be scary for some viewers, but not much than a regular sci-fi movie. If you feel somehow sensitive about it, try to play it with lower volume, I think maybe the sound/vision combination doesn't work good on some people. Personally, I enjoy it, and that's what makes it attractive, but is a matter of personal perception I guess.

I don't think there could be horror in fantasy. It's just a game, and thought others might though of something to be scared about in the game, I don't think it should be something serious. Maybe it's just part of the game, and its intended to appear scary to add to the excitement and thrill. No one should really be scared about it, just have fun and enjoy the game.
Maybe, what's scary is when your mobile phone's battery is already off while being too engrossed in playing Final Fantasy :)

I hate anything that has even the slightest horror element. But, I have been Final Fantasy games for years now and never felt any horror element in it.

Haha, horror is not meant for the chicken hearts but for me mean hearted fellow like us :D. Don't mind my silly mood this morning, horrors simply thrills me that why I love it a lot. Final Fantasy wouldn't really be categorized as horror, although there are certain heightened scenes in the game but it doesn't necessarily depict horror in my opinion.

I never felt any horror aspects of FF to be frank. There's situations that put characters in a tough spot like dying and whatnot or getting trapped in a weird place, but nothing that construes horror. Just what is she scared of?

I don't ever get scared while playing FF games. My favourite games are those horrors which scare other people especially at night. I too have some people around me who don't like playing or watching horrors because of those Scarry things that show up in the games. Some people naturally have elements of fear and they can't help it. It's natural and can hardly be changed. Nature is simply what anybody cannot change no matter how willing.

Not one bit, do I get anything like being scared when playing any of my Final Fantasy games. The game thrills me in all ways possible and I see no reason why it's going to be giving me the creeps while playing the game.

In fact, I don't really consider the game as being horror in nature. Although there are some certain scene in the game that is heightened but that doesn't generalize it to classified as a horror. But even if it's horror in nature, normally I don't get scared by horror stuffs. I actually love such games.

@Heatman You are really into horror stuffs kind of games. I like that because I view such people as being twisted and I love twisted people with twisted personality because they are the most free spirit people I have ever come across.

You have played lots of horror games from what you stated here. I have watched most of the games in its movie but haven't played it on games. I hope that in no long time, I would play some of them.
