Cloud Strife getting redesigned

Hello, Final Fantasy fans!

Square Enix has announced that Cloud Strife will be redesigned for the upcoming Final Fantasy VII remake. What do you think will they change in his appearance? Will it be his hairdo? Will they make him younger or older? Do you think this change is needed?

What are your thoughts on Cloud getting a redesign?

I am speculating that he may get remake something like how Injustice heroes got the upgrades. Maybe some cosmetic in terms of armor and the sword. Or maybe even the facelift. Have to check out the progress from SE on that.

They will make him look more Asian since that has been the art style since X and his hair will look less Super Saiyan. His hair will look more realistic because his hair design will look awkward in photo realistic style.

I think his face is perfect and doesn't need any change. He looks pretty already.

I agree that spiky hairs from game characters may look awkward during highly detailed cutscenes. It looks unusual for photorealistic hairs to stand that tall.

He already looks Asian with contact lenses in Advent Children.

I think that is the art direction they will go for since Square hire Asian motion and facial capture models. The spiky hair is going to go, If there is a design change I want... Make him less pretty boy. Give him some muscles , not too bulky just make him less feminine.

I can tell this game will be stunning. The expected release will arrive on PS4. Just to lay it out there, don't want them changing anything on cloud. His perfect.

Yes, they say Cloud Strife in the Final Fantasy 7 remake will look more like he does in Advent Children. I guess Square Enix blends character traits of European and Oriental to make them appealing to both Japanese and White people.

I think that they are going to dye his hair black. In fact, I would love to see him with a new hair black color. It would make him look more masculine than how he with the blonde hair. Also I would like to see a redisgn of his sword, the former one looks like it's heavy because it's too bold.

I'm fully in support of your desire to see the sword be redesigned to look more better. It looks too heavy to my eyes and seeing such heavy looking sword being carried with just one hand doesn't seem right.

Cloud Strife's sword really needs to be adjusted, it's just one thing that I seriously don't fancy about him. Every other thing looks good to me and should possibly be left like that. I might want a little bit of red color in his wear.

You have issues with red color stripe? Well, personally I think it would look cool but just like you said let's wait and see the kind of redesign we would get when it comes.

Yeah, I think so too. It's actually why I really wish to see that redesign on Cloud when Square Enix is ready to bring it into fold.

Hmm, that's definitely going to be a huge lift from Square Enix. Changing the character of Cloud totally wouldn't be an easy task.

Yup. If you change the character of the main character, it would drastically change the feeling of playing the game. It is because most fans are already used to his attitude and may not want it changed.
