Final Fantasy VII is beloved because it's weird. Its creative success reveals a truth: that most successful Japanese role playing games succeed because they embrace strangeness. The least successful Japanese role-playing games fail because they take themselves too seriously.

In Final Fantasy VII you will go snowboarding, memorize military march choreography, dress up like a sailor, and have disturbing encounters with burly men at a seedy brothel. What were some of your best moments?

I think Final Fantasy 7 is good but wierd at times also- but in this game, Cloud and friends chase Sephiroth around the world and find out he plans to destroy the planet by summoning a massive meteor.

The most memorable scene I remember from Final Fantasy VII has to be Cosmo Canyon, after you defeat the boss at the bottom of the dungeon, and Red discovers that his father was a hero who sacrificed himself for the safety of the village.

My best unforgettable moments were not really associated with the story, but the in-game bits and pieces. I liked raising my chocobos and racing them, I would play FFVII again just for that part.

However, fighting the weapons for me was just simply amazing. I cannot recall their names, but the one in the desert and the other one underwater. I have not finished the game until I had defeated those two and felt really proud and fulfilled afterwards.

I think the best or at least my most favorite moment in Final Fantasy VII, has to be when I was done with Midgar and was now ready to explore the rest of the world.
